It’s a tenet embodied by this year’s list of the best hotels in Paris — each one distinctive in its personality. From boutique hotels to grande dames, the properties that T+L readers chose as the best hotels in Paris are examples of the city’s distinctive style at its best. Every year for our World’s Best Awards survey, T+L asks readers to weigh in on travel experiences around the globe — to share their opinions on the top hotels, resorts, cities, islands, cruise ships, spas, airlines, and more. Hotels were rated on their facilities, location, service, food, and overall value. Properties were classified as city or resort based on their locations and amenities. Related: The World's Best Awards 2019 This year’s No. 4 spot went to Hôtel Esprit Saint Germain, a 28-room boutique hotel on the Left Bank that is thoroughly modern in its design (think: leopard-print carpeting and leather headboards) and unfailingly pampering (complimentary drinks are served hearthside in the fireplace lounge at any time, and bathrooms are outfitted with Diptyque products). Writes one reader, “I was in love with this hotel the second I walked in. Excellent service, and charm dripping from the ceilings.” Prince de Galles, a Luxury Collection Hotel, which appears at No. 10, is hardly a newcomer on the Paris hotel scene: it opened in 1929, and while it completed a three-year, $100 million renovation in 2013, it has retained the Art Deco refinement that drew the likes of Winston Churchill and Marlene Dietrich. Located steps from the Champs-Élysées, the hotel’s elegantly appointed 115 rooms and 44 suites prompted one reader to write, “Superb hotel, rooms, and service.” Two of the Paris properties are esteemed enough to have also made the Top 100 Hotels in the World list (Le Meurice and this year’s winner), both for the second year in a row. Guests can work off feasts at the Michelin two-starred restaurant Le Gabriel with a dip in the 50-foot pool if they feel so motivated, or just give in to hedonism with a massage in the spa. “The location is perfect,” raves one reader of the property’s proximity to the Champs-Élysées. “The staff was outstanding. Paris wouldn’t be the same staying anywhere else.” Another sums up the experience with: “Quite possibly the most spectacular hotel I have experienced in my life.” See all of our readers' favorite hotels, cities, airlines, cruise lines, and more in the World's Best Awards for 2019.
