Choosing where to stay in Mexico is a bit like trying to decide on where to find the best tacos: the options are seemingly endless, and it can be overwhelming.
Every year for our World’s Best Awards survey, T+L asks readers to weigh in on travel experiences around the globe—to share their opinions on the top hotels, resorts, cities, islands, cruise lines, spas, airlines, and more. In the hotels category, readers rated properties on their rooms/facilities, location, service, food and drink, and overall value. Properties were categorized as city or resort based on their locations.
Scattered across Mexico — from Playa del Carmen to Tulum to Punta Mita — these resorts wowed our readers with their top-tier service and postcard-worthy locations.
World’s Best voters sang the praises of Rosewood Mayakoba in Playa del Carmen again this year, applauding its white-sand beaches, elegant design, and lush jungle surroundings.
“We have visited yearly for six years. Each time the resort improves,” said one T+L reader. “The service is refined, subdued, and anticipatory: this resort understands how to deliver low-key luxury flawlessly.”
Other resorts made the list for similar reasons, like the beautiful Las Ventanas al Paraíso — also a Rosewood Resort, in San José del Cabo. It’s known for its spa and “absolutely divine” atmosphere, as put by one T+L reader.
While this year’s list certainly boasts a few familiar names, there are some newcomers as well, like Zamas Hotel in Tulum, a collection of jungle-fringed cabanas and bungalows nestled on the edge of a beach off the Caribbean coast.
