If you’ve spent any time dreaming of a galaxy far, far away or idolizing Mark Hamill as the one and only original Jedi, the actor’s latest stunt will have you green with envy.

Guests on Disneyland’s classic “Star Wars”-themed ride Star Tours got the surprise of their lives this week when Luke Skywalker himself waltzed onto their StarSpeeder. Hamill just wanted to say a quick hello before sending guests on their journey, but fans could barely contain their excitement upon seeing the original “Star Wars” actor in the flesh.

In the video, a Disneyland cast member sets the scene, speaking to the crowd of park-goers already seated on the ride, saying mysteriously, “Actually, you know what, the captain did say something about a special passenger. Oh, and the force is strong with this one.”

At his words, Hamill appears in the doorway of the spacecraft with a casual “Hello, everyone!” only to be greeted with audible gasps and screams as guests can’t believe what they’re seeing. Excited riders pull out their phones, stand up, clap, and one man even quickly puts on his glasses to ensure Skywalker’s appearance isn’t just a figment of his imagination. (One man also looks inexplicably yet determinedly unamused, but we’ll let it slide.)

The video, posted on Hamill’s personal Twitter, touts the Jedi’s excitement at fulfilling his “childhood dream” of working at Disneyland.

The stunt comes just a few weeks before the upcoming release of the new “Star Wars” film, “The Last Jedi,” which premieres next month, as well as a new ride overlay for Star Tours, which is set to open in just a few days. The revamped ride will feature exclusive scenes from the new film, placing guests in “the middle of an epic battle.”

Disneyland and Disney World are set to go all-in on “Star Wars” in the coming years, with an entire “Star Wars”-themed land and immersive hotel in the works.

While the surprise appearance is likely tied to these events, we’ll assume that Hamill also simply finds joy in utterly shocking and delighting his fans.
