T+L Asks: What's Your Favorite Caribbean Destination?
Guadeloupe is still a secret to most Americans. Its two islands have beautiful beaches and dramatic mountain landscapes. I like to stay at La Toubana, with its 32 red-roofed bungalows and spectacular views from a cliff on the southern coast of Grande-Terre.

Our favorite place is Anguilla. We stayed in a suite with a private pool at Cap Juluca -- 3,000 square feet of heaven! The staff was friendly and helpful, and the food was as good as I've found anywhere. I'll be going back for many years.
We've seen most of the Caribbean from our 35-foot sailboat. St. Vincent and the Grenadines is our favorite. The best accommodations are at Young Island Resort, off St. Vincent. It's small, romantic, and offers a fun overnight boat trip to Bequia.
For the past 21 years, I've stayed at Caneel Bay Resort, on St. John. It's terrific for relaxing, diving, and fishing. I've also enjoyed a few visits to Little Dix Bay in the British Virgin Islands.

St. Martin is my choice, for the combination of French and Dutch culture, the clothing-optional beaches, and the nightlife. It's a little bit of Rio in the Caribbean. And La Samanna is the ultimate luxury resort.
Mustique's water is so electric blue, it sizzles. This is the place to go if you want to do nothing. I stay at the Firefly. Don't miss the lobster pizza.
Farmers Branch, Tex.
I spent 17 years working in the Caribbean and the only place I return to is friendly, picturesque Grenada. The Spice Island Beach Resort is luxuriously comfortable without being stuffy.
La Jolla, Calif.
Without a doubt, I choose St. Bart's for the fabulous, uncrowded beaches. We rented a villa on Flamands beach. I just wish the island were easier to get to.
