Who He Is: British travel junkie turned entrepreneur Tom Marchant met his first business partner while both were university students scrimping for future trips, and his second around a campfire in the Australian outback. In 2005, the trio launched Black Tomato (, an online travel agency specializing in unique and highly personalized experiences.

His Big Idea: Last month marked the debut of the more editorially driven Beach Tomato (, a website devoted to life by the sea. Filled with fashion trends, travel recommendations, opinion pieces, and lists of the best bars and music, the site provides a curated look at beach culture from some of the Web’s best travel planners.
