Every summer vacation needs a playlist.

If your summer plans err on the presidential side, President Barack Obama just dropped his second annual summer playlist.

According to The White House, Obama hand-picked the tracks himself. Like any self-respecting, music-loving president, Obama was democratic in his choices: The two playlists—one for day and one for night—feature a solid mix of old school (Aretha Franklin, Beach Boys and Miles Davis) and plenty of new (Courtney Barnett, Chance the Rapper and Gary Clark Jr.).

The day playlist is full of uplifting, groovy jams, including an ode to Prince with “U Got the Look,” and an unabashed shout-out to that song that was in every single commercial in 2011, “Home” by Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros.

The nighttime playlist is nothing but smooth. The tracklist includes D’Angelo’s classic, get-it-on jam “Lady” and Fiona Apple’s “Criminal.” Please take a minute and picture President Obama singing along to Fiona Apple. Of course, the president’s oft-recorded love for Jay-Z makes an appearance on the playlists. As do songs from politically-minded rappers Nas and Chance the Rapper.

All in all, it’s a well-curated, eclectic playlist that will take summer vacations from day to night.

The part-time DJ/full-time Commander in Chief is currently on vacation with his family at Martha’s Vineyard. We can only hope everyone on the island will be bumping these tunes for the next two weeks.

You can listen to the day and night playlists on The White House’s Spotify account.
