Ready to Try a Virtual Reality Facial?
The beauty brand that pioneered facials in a bubble — a real inflatable bubble, filled with pure air and free of pollution — is taking their treatments even more over-the-top.
Barcelona-based Natura Bissé, whose skincare products are used at top spas around the world, including Bacara Resort & Spa in Santa Barbara and Le Blanc in Cancun, just unveiled “The Mindful Touch Pure Air Bubble Facial.”
The facial is like a having a massage/taking a vacation/being transported into space, all in one go. Spa-goers begin the experience inside the bubble, where they’re asked to put on virtual reality headsets while lying on a massage bed. For the next few minutes, as various calming images and New Age-y music are played during a short film, you’re told to unwind, focus on your breath, and relax — which is of course a little easier when a therapist is there to gently massage your shoulders, hands, feet, and head.
After the film ends, a 3D Collagen Shock Facial follows: This 50-minute contouring and lymphatic drainage experience involves the application of a Natura Bissé glyco extreme peel, a rich cream packed with anti-oxidants, and an anti-aging serum designed to hydrate and lift the skin.
Starting this month, this facial will be rolling out to 18 locations around the country, including major department stores like Saks Fifth Avenue and Neiman Marcus; the experience is free with the purchase of four products.
