Solo travel is becoming more and more common, but most experiences are tailored to couples or groups, with prices to match. Riviera River Cruises is taking a different approach by catering to solo travelers with voyages created exclusively for people who will be traveling alone. And rather than strapping solo travelers with pricey single supplements — additional fees imposed to compensate for decreased occupancy — the company boasts a single supplement-free policy.

Riviera River Cruises announced three new solo travel cruise departures for the 2020 season including a five-day trip through the Netherlands, an eight day-trip in France, and an eight-day excursion through medieval Germany. In addition to new offerings, four established solo travel excursions are returning in 2020, including river trips through Austria, Hungary, Southern France, and Portugal.

Riviera’s five-star ships offer travelers spacious cabins and suites, expert-led excursions, and onboard culinary experiences. Prices for solo excursions vary, but start as low as $1,389 per person. In addition to solo-specific trips, every Riviera departure offers a limited number of single supplement-free cabins.
