Mango African Safaris wants to help Americans go on a great adventure again. And this time, they want to help them do it in their own backyards.

In June, the company announced it’s launching a new set of “domestic safaris” for Americans to “quench their travelers’ thirst for travel, while also serving as a fundraiser for African camps and conservation efforts.”

Starting in late July, those interested in taking a safari can join one happening across America. The safari company is offering three distinct trips across the American West, including two focused on Yellowstone National Park and the third trip through Ted Turner’s 550,000-acre Vermejo Reserve along the New Mexico/Colorado border.

“The trips offer much of what you’d expect of an African safari — guided hikes and drives to see wildlife, luxe accommodations via canvas tents and private houses, sundowners, and gourmet meals,” the company explained in a statement. To make it all the more special, Mango’s co-founders Teresa and Casey will be on hand to host the trips themselves, marking the first time they have accompanied a trip in more than 20 years.

For an example itinerary, the company shared its Yellowstone journey, which will include early morning animal tracking, including tracking the park’s famed wolf packs. Next, guests will take a lazy scenic float down the Yellowstone River before enjoying sunset cocktails and fireside meals.

And sure, the trips sound amazing, but here’s the best part: $500 dollars of each trip in the United States will be donated to the company’s longstanding partners in Africa to help sustain their staff and go toward supporting conservation efforts.

Of course, like all trips in 2020, the company has also put extensive health and safety protocols in place to ensure guests can focus on enjoying their travels to some of the most stunning places in the world. (Trips start at $3,995/per person.)
