Trip Ideas VIDEO: Take a Two-Minute Vacation to Norway By Melanie Lieberman Melanie Lieberman Instagram Twitter Melanie Lieberman is the senior travel editor at The Points Guy and was an editor at Travel + Leisure. Travel + Leisure Editorial Guidelines Published on May 24, 2016 Share Tweet Pin Email Norway’s Lofoten Islands—a kingdom perched above the Arctic Circle and dominated by snow-capped mountains and foamy waters—are out of this world. Cinematographer Bryan Daughtery, who worked with 3D Robotics to capture the dream beachscapes and rugged mountain skylines, called it “one of the most picturesque places” he’s ever spent tie capturing on film. What we can’t get enough of are those overwater roads, and utterly remote red-and-white villages that look plucked from a postcard. Is it any wonder the country of Norway was counted as one of the best places in the world to visit? Daughtery’s footage of the Scandinavian islands could very well have you booking an epic detox (hiking, cruising the fjords, twirling in the snowfall). But in the meantime, we’re happy to watch this overview of the wintry landscape set to Chi Duly’s textural, ambient beats.
