An exciting new development is about to hit Times Square—famed stylist Ted Gibson is moving into the Knickerbocker Hotel, a Beaux Arts-style landmark property opening this fall.

The scissor siren will oversee on-site salon services (in addition to his Fifth Avenue flagship and outpost at the W Fort Lauderdale); provide cuts for high-end clients that include Angelina Jolie and Lupita Nyong’o (a service that will set you back $1,200); and, most importantly—take on the newly minted role of Style Curator.

As Style Curator, Gibson will put his creative stamp everything from the design of staff uniforms—part of a head-to-toe look that falls within Gibson’s overarching “Knickerbocker Style Guide”—to an exclusive menu of hair, makeup, and styling services, which can be booked through the concierge.

In addition, each of the hotel’s 330 guest rooms and suites will feature salon-quality Ted Gibson shampoo and conditioner (to be nicked upon check-out, if you know what’s good for you), plus an in-room Beauty Bar, offering a curated selection of high-pigment cosmetics.

For someone who’s at the top of his game, Gibson can only aim higher: “This unique collaboration, the first of its kind, is the result of our shared passion to set a new standard in hospitality and beyond,” he says.
