New Survey Reveals State of U.S. Pet Travel
American travelers sacrifice significant vacation time for their pets—a whopping 69 percent have missed out on spur-of-the-moment getaways. So says a new survey from DogVacay, which polled 2,025 adults last month.
Fifty-six percent of respondents missed family events in the past year due to their dogs, while 13 percent skipped a wedding to stay home with them. Of those brave souls who traveled with pets, 43 percent reported that doing so makes it harder to enjoy the trip.
Should everyone just leave the dogs behind? The 46 percent of vacationers who found it harder to enjoy their trips while worrying about Fido and Fluffy might disagree.
