In a hectic city with a population of more than 20 million, it may seem hard at times to find the ideal place where you can spend quality time with your significant other. But luckily, it’s just a matter of scheduling and picking your destination. If you want to hang out in Centro Histórico, there’s the recently-opened Downtown México, housed in a historic building but with lots of contemporary touches. However, if you and your loved one are into all things hip, Condesa DF is your best bet. Looking for a spa? Then head to Live Aqua Bosques. And if you’re traveling with a foodie, Las Alcobas and Hotel Habita are close to all the great restaurants in Polanco—you know, in case want to leave the hotel at some point. These five hotels have plenty to offer both locals and visitors, and cater to the preferences of all kinds of couples.

Las Alcobas

This lovely boutique hotel is housed inside a former private residence in Polanco’s sophisticated Presidente Masaryk Avenue. The rooms and suites, designed by Yabu Pushelberg, feature fine Italian linens and custom-made rosewood furniture, as well as 42-inch flat-screen TVs and motorized drapes. Make sure you eat at the hotel’s Dulce Patria, chef Martha Ortiz’s excellent Mexican restaurant.

Downtown México

Classic meets modern at Grupo Habita’s cool boutique hotel, where the colonial building’s volcanic stone walls and handmade tiles playfully blend with contemporary, industrial details and modern amenities. Settle down for breakfast at the peaceful central courtyard, and spend the afternoon sipping mescal at the rooftop bar, which offers gorgeous views of downtown Mexico City.

Condesa DF

This intimate-yet-hip hotel is located on Veracruz, a lovely, tree-lined street in Colonia Condesa; it offers great views of Parque España and the Chapultepec Castle from its rooftop bar, which is tranquil during the day but gets energized at night. The building dates from the 1920s and has 35 sunny rooms, decorated with minimal furniture and sophisticated details.
