The role of design and the visual arts in shaping American automobileculture, from the concept of “planned obsolescence” at work in the production of eachyear’s new model to the Mobil Oil signs dotting our nation’s highways, is the focus ofthis engaging exhibition, which includes more than 80 original design drawings for everything fromfenders to advertising.
