Art lovers curious to see works that the venerable auction house Christie’s puts on the block don’t need to go to an actual auction. Thanks to a recent partnership with JW Marriott, art from upcoming Christie’s sales will be displayed in special preview exhibits at hotels around the world.

Last week, the JW Marriott Hotel Shanghai at Tomorrow Square showed select works from Christie’s Hong Kong November auction. (Among the Asian 20th century and contemporary art, jewelry, and watches was the oil painting “Two Beauties with Fans” by the late Chen Yiefi.)

The next exhibit is timed with Miami’s internationally known Art Basel, during which the Marquis Miami will showcase highlights from Christie’s London sale of Post-War and Contemporary Art from Nov. 30 to Dec. 3. (JW Marriott properties in Mexico City, Rio de Janiero, Cannes, Mumbai, and Dubai are in consideration to host Christie’s exhibitions in the future.)

Christie’s-curated city guidebooks that highlight trendy hotspots and cultural institutions frequented by the local auction house’s clients will also be free to guests staying at participating hotels.
