Occupation Actors, writers, and all-around funny girls as cast members of Saturday Night Live (whose 28th season starts October 5 on NBC).
Home Base New York City
On the Road Dratch and Fey visited Newport, Rhode Island, for the annual film festival. "I spoke on a comedy panel and saw a lot of films," Dratch says, "so I didn't get out that often." Fey, on the other hand, was celebrating her first anniversary with her husband. "Tina stayed at the Hotel Viking [1 Bellevue Ave.; 800/556-7126 or 401/847-3300; doubles from $249]," Dratch says. "Tina went shopping. All I did was watch movies."
Chowderheads Both agree the best place for Newport's famous clam chowder is the Black Pearl (1 W. Pelham St.; 401/846-5264). "I had huge bowls of it," Fey says. "I'm not used to that much cream in my body."
Above it All "We had perfect weather for the Cliff Walk," Fey says. "It was stunning to see the ocean from so far up. And nice to walk off all that chowder!"
