A private guide will meet you in Marrakesh for your 2½-hour journey west to Essaouira, a quaint town on Morocco’s Atlantic coast known for its traditional riads, great surf, and laid-back lifestyle. You’ll stay for three nights in a suite at L’Heure Bleue Palais, a colonial bed-and-breakfast in the heart of the medina that was originally a foundouk (a coach house for camel caravans). Today, it features a rooftop pool and an intimate spa. The rest of the day is at your leisure. Michael Turek

In the morning, a guide will meet you at your hotel for a half-day tour of the medina. Walk through the buzzing fishing harbor and along the ramparts, walls built in the 18th century that have served as a backdrop for scenes in Game of Thrones. Lunch (included) is a four-course prix fixe with wine at the Chalet de la Plage, a seafood spot overlooking the Atlantic. The rest of the day is at your leisure.

It’s an energy-packed morning, as you depart on a three-hour quad-biking excursion (included) to explore the region’s diverse terrain. You’ll cross the Oued Ksob river, navigate through a forest, and check out the ruins of the Sultan’s Palace before arriving in Diabat, a sleepy town on the Atlantic surrounded by sand dunes. After returning to L’Heure Bleue Palais, you’ll wind down with a soothing hammam treatment (included) at the hotel spa. Carlos M. Almagro/Imagebrief
