If you’re looking to see the fall foliage this year, you might want to consider getting a better angle. While there are plenty of beautiful photo ops from the ground, everything looks much different when you’re cruising above the canopy.

Bristol Mountain in New York's Finger Lakes region is offering leaf chasers a unique view of the fall foliage from their brand new Fall Sky Ride gondolas this year. The Comet Express chair lift takes visitors on a stunning 15 to 20 minute ride to the summit of the mountain, while showcasing the gorgeous views of the surrounding trees turning from lush green to gold, orange, and red.

According to the Bristol Mountain website, a glimpse of Canandaigua Lake is visible from the summit on clear days.

Adult tickets for these rides are $12, while children between the ages of three and 12 can join for only $7. Visitors can also save $2 when they book at least 24 hours in advance.

The gondolas will be open for operation between September 9 and October 29 on weekends and Columbus Day (Monday, October 9) from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. And according to our interactive fall foliage map, you'll want to plan a trip that weekend (October 7 and 8) — that's when New York state will be blanketed in peak and near-peak hues.

Of course, if you’d like something more thrilling, the mountain also offers fun fall activities like climbing and ziplining tours through Bristol Mountain Aerial Adventures.
