Disneyland Employees Break Down in Tears of Joy As They Learn They’re Going to Work at Star Wars: Galaxy Edge
Disney’s newest attraction, Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge, won’t open for another few months, but that isn’t stopping fans of both the movie franchise and the park from getting really, really excited. However, nobody is more thrilled about the park’s opening than its new staff.
In a behind-the-scenes video, Disney shared the reactions of the cast members chosen to work at the highly anticipated new attraction.
“Oh my gosh, this is a dream come true,” Disneyland employee Teddi Moreau, from Long Beach, California, shared in a statement provided by Disneyland to the O.C. Register. “I can’t think of a more exciting thing to happen to me — opening a new land and it’s Star Wars. To me, this is a bucket list item.”
In the video, which has already garnered more than 1 million impressions on Facebook and Instagram, Michael Han, another chosen employee puts his hand to his mouth in utter shock that he’s been chosen.
“I never thought in a million eons or in any galaxy that I would get to be a part of this prestigious opening team,” Han, who works in attractions, additionally shared in the statement. “When I was told I was joining the opening team, I didn’t know how to react. I just thought, ‘Is this real?’”
While these employees got the best news ever, Disney also shared another great piece of information. Because hundreds of cast members are being relocated to the Star Wars attraction, Disneyland Resort will soon be looking to hire 1,400 new workers in attractions, food and beverage, retail, entertainment and custodial at Disneyland and Disney California Adventure this summer, the O.C. Register reported. So that means Disney will soon be making more job-hunting dreams come true too.
“I’m beyond excited, ”Disneyland guest relations host Maria Zamora said of her new post at the Millennium Falcon. “I’m so stoked. I can’t wait.”
