Avengers Campus is a futuristic environment and immersive attraction housed on the former site of A Bug’s Land. It will be the largest assembly of Marvel Comics superheroes, allowing park goers to have up close and personal moments with Earth’s mightiest champions such as Ant-Man and The Wasp, Black Widow, Captain America, Captain Marvel, Thor, and many more. In addition, an interactive training encounter with Black Panther’s elite royal bodyguards, the Dora Milaje, led by their leader General Okoye will add to this exciting experience.
No superhero adventure is complete without battling villainous foes to save the world. The evil Taskmaster, who will be in the upcoming “Black Widow” movie, will make his first appearance at Disney in this land. Guests will see some of their favorite Marvel superheroes face off against this villain at Avengers Headquarters, the heart of the Campus.
To fully immerse guests in the Avengers Campus experience, a team of Walt Disney artists will bring Marvel movie moments to life. The Disney team’s well-known attention to detail will enhance this engaging experience throughout the attraction, from architectural and design elements to special effects, lighting, and sound. One stunning example will be The Sanctum from the “Doctor Strange” movie, where you can explore outdoor ruins that illuminate at night – guaranteed to be an Instagrammable spot.
One of the most exhilarating features of the Campus will be WEB Slingers: A Spider-Man Adventure. In this ride, guests will board WEB Slinger vehicles that swivel and twist, and they will use cutting-edge technology to sling webs like Spider-Man in a virtual world to stop out-of-control Spider-Bots. Tom Holland will be reprising his role for the ride, so guests can expect to hear a familiar voice on their interactive journey. The innovative technology for this ride has been in development at Disney for approximately two years and employs a gesture recognition system that allows guests to virtually sling webs from their hands and save the day, just like their friendly neighborhood Spider-Man.
Finally, a Disneyland experience is not complete without sampling some of its specially-designed cuisine for this new land. The Pym Test Kitchen applies “Pym Particles” that shrink and grow food and drinks; guests can order gigantic soft pretzels, families can share a panini sandwich that’s two feet long, and kids can dine on mini pasta and meatballs. Also on Campus will be the Shawarma Palace cart, which pays homage to the original Shawarma Palace restaurant as seen in “The Avengers” movie.
