Saturday is National Train Day and what better way to celebrate than to win some free train travel? Not in the mood to get on board—then jet away with your betrothed for a eco-friendly destination wedding in the Cook Islands. “Carbon Neutral Wedding Contest.” Cook Islands, New Zealand; Now–June 30
If you needed a reason to get married (and tax breaks, never-ending love, and registry presents weren’t enough), here it is. Cook Islands Tourism is giving away a carbon-neutral destination wedding for the bride and groom and four guests. The prize includes roundtrip airfare for six on Air New Zealand from Los Angeles, accommodations for six at Pacific Resorts Rarotonga & Aitutaki, and an eco-friendly ceremony. “Ohio State Park Lodges Photo Contest.” Now–November 1
Visitors to eight of Ohio’s state parks and lodges have a chance to win a return trip. Submit your photo of your past Ohio park experience and a group of judges might just award you with a two-night stay at any Ohio State park lodge. Contest categories range from “park activities” to “flora and fauna”—and contestants are free to submit multiple entries. Winners will be announced November 30.
“Tweet Your Teen to Oxford.” Oxford, England; Now–May 31Tech-savvy parents can finally put their teen’s Twitter habit to good use. Entrants mustfollow @asaprograms on twitter and tweet why their highschool student (grades 9–12) deserves a summer at the reputable university—using the tag #asaoxford. ASA will give away the $6,295 trip for July 27-August 14, 2010 to the best entry. Limit one tweet per day.
