London may be one of the most kid-friendly destinations in the world, but hotel accommodations for families are still limited. Traveling to the city with your clan? Look no further than this list of the best family-friendly hotels in London, whose list of amenities include proximity to landmarks, access to kitchenettes, complimentary cots, and children’s menus in the restaurants. You may also want to consider house swaps or apartment sharing sites like,,, or—they can be a great alternative to traditional properties, and offer amenities like full-sized kitchens or private outdoor spaces that aren’t often found in hotels. Once in London, do remember that it’s a holiday for parents, too. Many hotels I mentioned above also have babysitters or caretakers on call, so adults can enjoy a night at the theater or dining at one of London’s best restaurants without worrying about the children. Read on for my favorite family-friendly hotels in London—many of which are also affordable.

No 5 Maddox Street Hotel

With 12 Asian-inspired suites (Chinese trunks, bamboo floors), this Mayfair hotel offers guests the opportunity to rent by the day, the week, or even the month. Each suite includes a kitchen, but also ask for a room with a balcony or outdoor space so the kids can get some fresh air. And don’t forget to take advantage of the grocery shopping service that’s available to all guests.

Park Plaza County Hall London

Just minutes from the London Eye, Houses of Parliament, and the Aquarium, Park Plaza County Hall is a great option for families focused on sightseeing. The hotel restaurant caters to little ones with a smart children’s menu, and the on-site Aurora Spa offers moms the chance to unwind after a busy day exploring London.

Premier Inn

Premier is a large chain in the UK, and a favorite of families on a tight budget. The rooms are clean and comfortable, no-frills, but children under 16 stay for free, and breakfast is complimentary. Do make sure to check the hotel’s location before booking—some properties, such as the new Holborn Inn, are more centrally located.

Go Native

A small chain of six self-catering hotels, these apartments are rented out depending on how many days you wish to stay. Studios, one-, and two-bedroom flats are all available, and the locations are great for kids. And forget prohibitively expensive hotel laundry—the apartments have kitchens with washing machines.

Holiday Inn Kensington

Located near both Kensington and Buckingham Palaces, and London’s West End theater district, the Holiday Inn on Cromwell Road is a great destination for families on a budget. Children under 18 stay free, cribs and sofa beds are readily available, and in the restaurant kids’ meals are complimentary.
