Bigger isn't always better. If you don't believe us, consider Jobson's Cove, one of Bermuda's most stunning — as well as perfectly calm and secluded — beaches.

Here, fine, pink sand meets jagged rock cliffs formed of limestone and volcanic lava rock, making it one of the most interesting beaches you may ever see. (And a popular proposal spot, we might add.)

Enclosed by the towering rocks, bright turquoise water forms a shallow pool that's ideal for swimming, especially for families with young children who want to avoid stronger currents. It's also a great place for snorkeling — the cove is home to many tropical fish that seek protection in the rocks.

The Bermuda Tourism Authority describes Jobson's Cove, with its pink sand, blue skies, and crystal-clear waters, as a place deserving its own island-inspired postcard: "You'll feel a world away from everyone and everything as you spread out on the sand, close your eyes, and listen to the gentle waves rolling in."

You can reach Jobson's Cove by walking from the nearby Warwick Long Bay. Hop a taxi to take you there (bring cash), or explore the area like a local by taking the #7 bus to Warwick Long Bay.

Of course, because Jobson's Cove is so beautiful it may also be busy when you arrive; the beach is especially popular in the morning and early afternoon. Luckily, Warwick Long Bay is a gorgeous place to wait out any crowds. This calm beach, like Jobson's Cove, also boasts pink sand and jagged rock formations, with stellar snorkeling.

And when you tire of swimming and lounging on the beach, Bermuda offers loads of other things to do, including touring the Crystal Caves, learning about the island's history at King's Square in St. George, and visiting the Lili Bermuda perfumery, where you can book afternoon tea in the pretty gardens.
