Last month, Iceland pulled in a record amount of snow—16.5 inches, to be exact. While that might not be an enormous amount compared to other winter-ridden locations (looking at you, northern New York), it does beat the country's previous record of around 13 inches. In fact, it may just be enough snow to turn Iceland into the storybook destination we've all come to know and love.

On another semi-related note, this might be the push travelers need to buy that plane ticket. According to data from Pinterest, "Iceland" was the third-most searched term in the United States. Time to start planning that winter getaway!
