With Storm Barney already hitting the shores of Great Britain, the Met Office has taken the opportunity to remind the public of one very important thing: risking your life for a selfie is not a good idea. Barney is expected to bring wind speeds upwards of 80 mph and up to 3 inches of rain in one day—that may not seem like a lot, but it's actually two-thirds of the regional monthly average in one day.

All of that being said, it's not the day to spend perusing the beach or shooting selfies off of your friend's balcony. Flooding has left roads submerged. Heavy rain is expected to follow the worst of the weather—just put the phones down, people.
