On an Alaska Air flight to Hawaii last week, a woman’s smartphone inexplicably caught on fire. Anna Crail told a Seattle paper that she was watching a movie when flames erupted out of her iPhone 6.

"When it started I thought we were going down, and I was like, 'oh my god, there's a fire on the plane,'" Crail, said. "All of the sudden there was 8-inch flames coming out of my phone and I flipped it off onto the ground and it got under someone's seat, and the flames were just getting higher and a bunch of people stood up."

The airline’s crew quickly extinguished the fire.

There were no injuries or damage and the plane continued to Honolulu, an FAA spokesman told ABC News. Both the airline and the FAA are investigating. Apple says that it is also looking into the incident and is in touch with the airline.
