An underwater robot recently found a model of the “Loch Ness Monster” in Scotland’s Loch Ness lake.
The prop is from the 1970 film The Private Life of Sherlock Holmes, directed by Billy Wilder.
It was discovered by Kongsberg Maritime, the UK division of a Norwegian company that has been using a drone to survey that body of water in an effort backed by VisitScotland.com and The Loch Ness Project, a site for scientific information on the legendary area.
The prop sank after the director ordered parts of it be removed for aesthetic reasons, only to discover those parts were the parts keeping the “replica” afloat, claims Adrian Shine, who heads up the The Loch Ness Project.
