Selfie kings and queens of the internet, there's a new kid on the block. And that kid is Bostonian Donnie Wahlberg.
The actor and singer secured the Guinness World Record for most selfies taken on Tuesday while partying on the annual “New Kids on the Block” cruise. (Yes, that's a thing, and no, we don't know why we weren't on it.) Wahlberg took 122 selfies in 180 seconds, the Boston Globe reported.
That equates to snapping a selfie every 1.5 seconds. These selfies were not taken with Wahlberg alone, however. The true feat of his achievement was that he snapped each photo with different groups of fans that had lined up to participate in the event on his sold-out cruise from New Orleans to Cozumel, Mexico.
The star of the CBS drama "Blue Bloods" knocked Dwayne 'the Rock' Johnson out of first place, as Johnson had held the title since he took 105 selfies in three minutes in 2015. A representative from Guinness was on hand to survey the feat and to award Wahlberg a certificate of his achievement.
Wahlberg celebrated with fans and friends on his cruise, posting all of the revelry on Twitter.
