This one-year-old has already been to four continents.
But a newcomer to the travel scene already has a head-start on some of the most well-heeled explorers.
One-year-old baby Rae Weber has already traveled to 31 countries on four continents with her adventurous parents, and they have no plans to settle down any time soon.
Rae’s parents, Chris and Erica Levine Weber, are long-time travelers and have continued to live their adventurous lifestyle with Rae in tow, taking her everywhere from South Africa to the ancient city of Petra in Jordan, and chronicling it all on their website The Worldwide Webers.
“We love to travel, we love to see new places...we love it all,” Erica told Travel + Leisure. “Getting on a plane is as normal for the weekend for us as going to Ikea.”
Erica and Chris met when they were both living in New York. Tired of routine city life, they found work opportunities in Singapore and moved abroad. They then moved in Johannesburg, and have now settled in Geneva.
“Living in Europe, it’s so ridiculously convenient,” Erica told T+L. “We’re just taking the opportunity we have in front of us, because we never know how long things are going to last.”
Traveling with young children can be difficult, but Erica says Rae has thrived on frequent trips, sampling cuisines from around the world and seeing her very first penguins on a beach in South Africa.
Erica recommends bringing travel-friendly baby gear, making sure to be as organized as possible, and planning some baby-free time, even just for a dinner at the hotel.
“Traveling with a baby is really no different than so many other aspects of parenting that seem really daunting until you just do it,” she said.
