This Tiny Drone Camera Could Replace Selfie Sticks
You'll never miss that perfect shot again.
If you’ve ever wanted to capture that perfect picture on vacation but always seem to end up with just a close-up of your face with a nondescript landmark in the background, your prayers have been answered. Taking the selfie stick up a notch, a new mini drone camera has been developed that not only takes aerial photos, but also follows you around.
The Hover Camera is designed to follow you while staying perfectly level, using sonar technology. The tiny drone also has two cameras to snap stunning pics that rival the quality of most smartphones, with 13 megapixel photos and 4K video.
“We create Hover Camera, which allows anyone to capture photos and videos from unique perspectives,” Zero Zero founder MQ Wang says in the demonstration video. “It’s so intelligent it follows people as they move around.”
To use it, you flip it open, hold it anywhere, give it a slight push and when you let go it just hovers. It’s so small that it can easily fit into a purse, making it ideal for travel. There’s no controller or GPS needed because it uses facial and body recognition to orient itself.
Pricing and availability haven't been revealed yet, but stuff.co.nz reported that the company has raised about $25 million and has created 2,000 devices to test.
