Chrissy Teigen Shares Her Pro Tips for Traveling With a Baby
The model lets us in on her life on the road as a new mom.
The glamorous lifestyle of a model may seem out of reach for most—flying private jets, wearing beautiful clothes, and exploring a new city ever other week. However, even models have to deal with life’s basic dilemmas, and Chrissy Teigen is no exception.
Sure, she has music master John Legend as a husband and her daughter little Luna probably has more passport stamps than you do, but right now she’s navigating motherhood like many other new moms.
We caught up with Teigen at the Chase Sapphire Reserve event in New York City where she shared her go-to travel outfit and her favorite luggage. The new mom also let us in on another secret: what it’s like to travel with her baby daughter and the tips she’s picked up along the way.
On her most recent trip with Luna
“I just tried to travel with her [Luna] for fashion week. And I just thought everything could be solved with a bottle—that’s how it was with her before. But I tried absolutely everything, I think we were bouncing around for maybe 5.5 hours. Passing from flight attendant to flight attendant.”
On how it feels to travel for the first time with a newborn
“It’s so funny because you think you have it down. I’ve been traveling long enough to know that you feel for those people when they walk in with a newborn, but you also give ‘the eye,’ of course. And then to become that person is very odd.”
On what she has learned while traveling with a baby
“I think the less you freak out the better. My problem is that her cries [make me] go into anxiety mode. I worry about other people so much, so I need to think more about her and how I can comfort her rather than worry about everyone around me because worrying about everybody around me isn’t helping her calm down.”
Her best advice to new moms
“My best advice is to just block everything out. Don’t be embarrassed, it happens to everybody and just give [your baby] some love.”
