Victoria’s Secret model Sanne Vloet knows a thing or two about traveling. Born in Donkerbroek, in the Netherlands, Vloet has jetsetted throughout her career, modeling around the world and appearing in international fashion magazines such as Vogue and Harper’s Bazaar.

Now, just 22-years-old, she still has no intentions of slowing down. Before appearing in the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show in Shanghai, Travel + Leisure got to chat with Vloet about her best-kept beauty secret, her cozy travel style, and her one guilty pleasure when traveling.

T+L: What’s the thing you miss most about living in the Netherlands?

Vloet: "The people, actually. They’re very down-to-earth people. I miss the cheese as well."

What is your favorite place you have traveled to for work?

"I’ve been all over, but I think my favorite would be [when] we were shooting in the north of Finland, at the Arctic Circle. That was very special, actually. I think that was my favorite trip. It was really, really cold to work in, but it was so special. So far, it was one of my favorite places to go — and I don’t even like the cold!"

What’s the one item that you cannot travel without?

"Headphones. I always have my headphones with me. I can’t travel without any music."

What’s your favorite thing to wear on a long flight?

"I will always bring a scarf with me because sometimes the temperature in the airport or plane changes really fast, so I always bring a scarf because it’s really easy. I like to wear comfortable clothes, but not too shabby, because I really feel like when you travel, if you look good, you feel good. I’ll travel with loafers — since you can take them on and off easy, especially during customs — a loose-fit pant, and a warm cashmere sweater."

Do you have any packing tips?

"Roll the clothes. And what I do recently as well, I put everything in small cotton bags. So my socks are separate, underwear is separate, all my bags are separate, swimwear is separate. So you have a little bit more room in your suitcase, and you can find things faster. I also put all my liquids in plastic bags to avoid leaking."

What’s the best vacation you’ve ever taken?

"I think the best destination was Indonesia for me. I traveled there for six weeks with a friend, and it had so many beautiful things. Beautiful culture, beautiful nature. There [are] beaches, things to do like surfing, relaxing with yoga, and I think that because it was all together, and you can do everything that you wanted [in one place]. That made it really nice. And I love Asian food."

What’s your one guilty pleasure when traveling?

"I always have a bar of chocolate in my bag, and I love a glass of red wine on the plane."

What’s your best-kept travel beauty secret?

"I always bring face masks in the plane for a long flight. And Caudalie's facial spray, which is kind of minty. And because it’s minty, not only is it really good for your skin, but it really freshens you up. And [also] eye drops."

Are there any projects you’re currently working on?

"Because traveling is one of my passions — of course, I do it for work — but I’d really like to explore all cultures. There are some upcoming projects with the traveling I do, and I will want to share that with people. In [2018], it will be a bigger thing."
