Although it’s well-documented that celebrities are not, in fact, just like us, sometimes they like to pretend.

The latest example is Sir Rod Stewart, who took public transport to a gig in London on Monday.

His wife Penny Lancaster shared images of the 72-year-old singer commuting on the train into London via Instagram.

“Sneaking into London by train today,” she captioned the picture.

After the duo had successfully made it into London, they changed trains and got on the tube’s Central Line. Stewart remained disguised in a raincoat and sunglasses for his ride. Lancaster took a picture of the pop star standing by the train car doors at Tottenham Cross Station.

His Monday night show at the O2 arena was the second of two shows rescheduled from November, when Stewart could not perform due to a throat infection.

Stewart isn’t the first celebrity performing at the O2 arena who has taken the Tube to work. Rihanna, Chris Martin and Noel Gallagher have all been spotted on the tube before gigs at the arena in east London.
