Prince Harry and Meghan Markle Were Just Spotted in LA for the First Time — and It Was For This Amazing Reason (Video)

The couple spent time volunteering with a local charity.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are officially starting their new lives in Los Angeles.

On Thursday, the former royal couple was spotted for the very first time in their new city while out volunteering their time with Project Angel Food in West Hollywood.

In a newly published video on TMZ, the couple can be seen entering an apartment complex where the charity is housed, with bodyguards waiting patiently nearby. Both Meghan and Harry looked relaxed. The Duchess of Sussex wore a casual look consisting of a blue baseball hat, white t-shirt, black pants, and white sneakers. But, most importantly, she paired it all with rubber gloves and a white face mask on her mouth and nose.

Harry wore an equally laid-back look with a gray shirt, matching baseball hat, and his own blue face mask for protection.

According to reports, the couple spent time inside with the charity that aims to cook and deliver meals to Los Angeles residents, including children, affected by life-threatening illnesses.

And, as US Weekly reported, this isn’t the first time the couple has volunteered with the organization and it likely won’t be the last.

On Thursday, Project Angel Food executive director Richard Ayoub wrote in a statement via Instagram, “In honor of the Easter holiday, the Duke and Duchess spent Sunday morning volunteering with Project Angel Food by delivering meals to our clients. And on Wednesday, they quietly continued delivering meals to relieve our overworked drivers. It was their way to thank our volunteers, chefs, and staff who have been working tirelessly since the COVID-19 crisis began.”

But, this isn’t the only charitable effort made by Harry and Meghan in the wake of the coronavirus pandemic. Earlier this week, the couple donated more than $100,000 to Feeding Britain, an organization working to alleviate hunger. The extra cash was from funds leftover from their stunning royal wedding in 2018.

"The Duke and Duchess were able to speak to the archbishop recently and were moved to hear all about the work Feeding Britain was doing to support people during the fight against COVID-19. They have particularly fond memories of their visit to the citizens' supermarket in Birkenhead, especially the generosity and compassion of everyone working there to help others,” a spokesperson for the couple told reporters. "They are delighted to be able to ensure this money is donated to such a great cause."
