The Obamas are racking up the real estate! After purchasing a nine-bedroom home in Washington, D.C.'s Kalorama neighborhood, Barack and Michelle have reportedly set their sights on the West Coast for another post–White House investment.
The First Family purchased a house in Rancho Mirage, Calif., reports The New York Post, which cites unnamed sources. The new digs are located close to Sunnylands, an estate that U.S. presidents use as a warm-weather getaway, so the fam is likely familiar with the area.
While the Obamas are taking down “For Sale” signs left and right, the president has said that they plan to stay on the East Coast until 15-year-old daughter Sasha graduates from high school in D.C. As for 18-year-old Malia, she’s currently on her gap year before attending Harvard University, so she has a few more months of living with the 'rents.
If you ask us, California sounds like the perfect place for a couple of empty nesters. But according to The Post, the Obamas are rounding out their post-presidency properties by also purchasing a holiday pad in Barack’s home state of Hawaii.
