We already knew Prince Harry and his wife Meghan Markle are heading to California to spend Thanksgiving with Meghan’s mother, Doria, but now reports are saying the pair may be considering a longer-term move to the Golden State.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are planning to take a few weeks off from their royal duties starting in November. During that time they will reportedly split their time between the United Kingdom and the United States.

The couple may be considering a full-time move to the states, however, a source recently told The Sun, but royal staff are concerned a move of that magnitude would mean an exit from the family.

“There's an acceptance that things haven't worked out with the Sussexes full-time in Windsor so they could have a second base in America,” the source said.

Though the spokespeople for the couple declined to comment, The Sun theorized the couple would still travel back and forth to England to ensure they remained connected to both families.

The news of a potential move might not be that surprising, especially after Meghan openly shared how much she's been struggling with the media attention she’s garnered since joining the royal family.

“Any woman, especially when they're pregnant, you're really vulnerable and so that was made really challenging,” Meghan told ITV journalist Tom Bradby as part of a documentary following the couple’s trip to Africa. “And then when you have a newborn, you know...especially as a woman, it’s really, it’s a lot, so you add this on top of just trying to be a new mom or trying to be a newlywed it’s, yeah, well I guess.” She added, “And also thank you for asking because not many people have asked if I'm OK. But it’s a very real thing to be going through behind the scenes.”

It’s important to note Meghan has apparently retained her U.S. citizenship since marrying into the royal family, making a part-time move to the states all the more feasible. And, perhaps a move to a state where they’d be among a multitude of other famous people would take a bit of pressure off them so they could focus on their worldwide charitable work instead.
