Actress Laverne Cox, along with Ross Matthews, best known as Ross the Intern from The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, has been named an ambassador for Marriott’s #LoveTravels campaign, which celebrates the the lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) community.

As part of her duties, on June 10, the Emmy-nominated trans actress will unveil a collaborative art installation, featuring works celebrating transgender lives and leaders. In two weeks, the campaign received some 3,500 submissions from 100 countries.

The announcement comes in advance of Washington, D.C.’s annual pride parade, of which Marriott Rewards is a sponsor. This year’s parade kicks off on Saturday, June 11, winding through Washington’s Dupont Circle neighborhood.

“[The campaign] creates powerful feelings because of who I am and what it stands for, sharing my vision of a world transformed by acceptance," said Cox in a statement. "Partnering with a global company that is applying its integrity, its reach, and its voice to help break down barriers for all LGBT individuals—it’s truly inspiring for me to join them."

The Marriott Hotel group has firmly established itself a friend of the LGBTQ community. They began the #LoveTravels campaign in 2014, celebrated marriage equality by throwing a same-sex marriage during the Capital Pride Parade, and make it their mission to ensure that its hotels are open and friendly for transgender travelers.
