American Airlines Will Offer Free In-Flight Entertainment Starting This Month
American Airlines will offer complimentary in-flight entertainment on aircraft with seatback systems or Wi-Fi, beginning this monht.
Some of the first shows and movies available include “Game of Thrones,” “Silicon Valley,” “Captain America: Civil War,” and “The Boss.”
About 300—approximately a third—of the airline's fleet have seatback screens, and all domestic mainline aircraft and two-class regional jets have Wi-Fi.
“American is further investing in and personalizing how our customers travel by giving them the most in-flight entertainment options onboard our aircraft,” Fernand Fernandez, American’s vice president of global marketing, said in a statement. “American is creating an unmatched travel experience that all of our customers can enjoy.”
American's move follows Delta's last month to make in-flight entertainment options free to all passengers.
