Every traveler’s dream is buckling in for pre-flight announcement and discovering the seat next to them is empty. But this woman’s latest travel experience just blew all our wildest dreams away.

On a flight from Rochester, New York to Washington, D.C., Redditor shadybaby22 magically found herself on a completely empty plane thanks to a clerical error. Turns out, her flight was specifically meant only for airline staff rather than the general public.

Under the r/mildlyinteresting subreddit, she submitted a photo of herself on the gloriously empty flight.

She explained that she felt something was wrong when she discovered she was the only one in the waiting area 45 minutes before takeoff. Apparently, a ticket agent came up to her and said, “I knew this would happen.”

The error occured due to the Redditor’s original flight being cancelled eight hours earlier. She and other passengers were given seats on the flight in the picture, but another agent then gave passengers yet another, earlier flight.

Unfortunately (or, perhaps fortunately), the Redditor has gone to stay with her parents and missed the second flight change — and thus, got a whole plane to herself.

Sometimes it’s worth it to not be at the right place at the right time.
