A passenger went for an unexpected ride on a baggage carousel at Sheremetyevo International Airport in Moscow on Sunday after losing her balance. To add insult to injury, her fall ended up costing her a small fine for damaging the airport’s freight transportation system.

The passenger, a woman in her late 50s, according to Channel News Asia, was reaching for a pet carrier with her dog inside as it made its way around the carousel. A transport police spokesman told the Moskva news agency that she accidentally lost her balance and wound up riding the conveyor belt all the way to the baggage room.

There were no details on how fast the conveyor belt was moving, but from all accounts everything seemed to be operating normally.

Even though the woman's fall was an accident, she still reportedly had to pay a fine for damages. The fee was a small one, however; police said the maximum fine for such an offense was 1,500 rubles (about $24 USD).

The woman had flown into Moscow from Belgrade, Serbia earlier that day. Reports did not detail whether the woman or the dog were hurt during the incident, but this is an important reminder to travelers with heavy luggage to be extra careful when lifting a bag off a moving carousel.
