Here's a Look Inside the 'Star Wars' After-party at Kensington Palace
It’s long been rumored that both Prince Harry and Prince William filmed a small, but significant, cameo in the new “Star Wars: The Last Jedi” film.
According to reports, the royal pair took their turns as stormtroopers when they went to visit the set of the film way back in April of 2016. And, according to sources, the scene either takes place when the stormtroopers are guarding John Boyega's character, Finn, in an elevator, or in an elevator scene with Benicio del Toro's new character.
Either way, we can almost certainly say the pair made the cut, as they not only attended the film’s London premiere, but according to the actors also hosted quite the after-party.
While making an appearance on the “Graham Norton Show” the cast of the film let it slip that Prince William and Prince Harry hosted an after-party at Kensington Palace following the premiere. Though, to be fair, the commoners known as Daisy Ridley, John Boyega, Adam Driver, Mark Hamill, and Oscar Isaac didn’t exactly get into Apartment 1A where Prince William resides. Instead, Daily Mail reported, the party was thrown on the public section of the property, which is run by the Historic Royal Palaces charity.
Daily Mail reported that neither one of the princes actually attended the party at Kensington. Though this may just be simply to protect the royal family from ever being mistaken for having a good time.
Even though our invitation got lost in the mail, we can all still sneak a peek at what happened at the after-party at Kensington thanks to actress Laura Dern, who not only stars in the new film but also took a plethora of photos at the after-party and posted them on her Instagram account.
First, Dern shared a few snaps of herself on the red carpet as she met the princes for the first time.
Next, she showed off her handsome castmates John Boyega, Benecio del Toro And Oscar Isaac at the after-party.
And finally, Dern shared a snapshot of her and Andrew Garfield, who she called a friend and “mentor.”
So yeah, the party looked great, just maybe next time the royal family can invite us too.
