The Spice Girls Are Hiring Back-up Dancers for Their Summer Tour — Here’s How to Apply
Spice Girls fans, now’s your chance to "slam your body down and wind it all around (zig-a-zig-ahhh)."
According to iNews, everyone’s favorite 90’s British girl group, the Spice Girls, are looking for some new dancers to join them for their Spice World UK Stadium Tour, scheduled to begin later in 2019.
Of course, “If U Can’t Dance,” you probably shouldn’t apply.
All lyric-based puns aside, the group — which will comprise of original members Geri Halliwell, Emma Bunton, Melanie Chisholm and Melanie Brown (not Victoria Beckham, sadly) — is looking for extraordinarily talented male and female dancers to “spice up” their routines, according to iNews.
The tour is scheduled to kick off this summer in Dublin followed by stops in Cardiff, Manchester, Coventry, Sunderland, Edinburgh, Bristol, and London.
If you really think you have what it takes to be a part of the Spice Girls crew, auditions for women will take place on Monday, Jan. 21, and auditions for men will take place on Tuesday, Jan. 22.
Auditions are invitation only, however, so to be considered dancers who are interested in auditioning should email performance resume and headshots to choreographer Paul Roberts at the email address: firstname.lastname@example.org.
Callbacks are scheduled for Wednesday, Jan. 23, and final decisions will be made after that, according to iNews.
The production is particularly looking for dancers who are “self expressive, strong, unique, diverse and intelligent.” A time commitment between April 8 and June 16 will be expected, as well, iNews reported. They’re also looking for unrepresented talent, so if you are looking for your big break, now is the time to seize the day.
Fingers crossed, this will be the year you spice up your life.
