(And T+L readers agree.) The airport once again nabbed the top prize at the “Oscars of the aviation industry,” thanks to its 24-hour swimming pool, butterfly garden, and rooftop pool. Courtesy of Changi Airport “To be voted the World's Best Airport for the sixth consecutive year is a fabulous achievement for Changi Airport,” Edward Plaisted, CEO of Skytrax, said in a statement. “This award yet again demonstrates the airport's popularity with international air travelers.” The airport ranked highly for its cleanliness, staff service, dining, shopping, security processing, baggage delivery, immigrations, and leisure amenities. Changi will continue improving itself next year when it opens a new 10-story glass and steel terminal called Jewel Changi, complete with walking trails, mazes and the world’s largest indoor waterfall. Courtesy of Changi Airport Runners up for best airport included Seoul Incheon (which also won Best Airport Staff Service) and Tokyo Haneda (which also won Cleanest Airport). Asian airports dominated the list, taking six of the top 10 spots. The remainder were in Europe. Vancouver remained the best airport in North America, although it dropped to 14th best throughout the world. Meanwhile, U.S. airports lag behind in global rankings. The highest ranking American airport on the list was Denver, coming in at number 29. Was this page helpful? Thanks for your feedback! Tell us why! Other Submit
