Princess Eugenie may be a member of the royal family, but that’s not stopping her from living life her way. In fact, Eugenie proved she’s got a rebellious streak by becoming the only member of the British royal family to launch a personal Instagram account.
That’s right, Eugenie made the very un-royal move of starting her own social media channel on Thursday. Since then, she’s also already amassed more than 20,000 followers.
On her social media launch date, Eugenie created her first post, a video of herself speaking at a charity event on International Women's Day.
She captioned the post, “I can think of no better day than today, International Women’s Day, to launch my personal Instagram. I hope to use this platform to share the causes, passions and people close to my heart.”
Over the weekend, Eugenie got a bit more personal, reposting one of her engagement photos with London socialite Jack Brooksbank.
She simply captioned the heartwarming photo, “Think Jack said something funny!”
On Sunday, Eugenie paid homage to her mother, Fergie, in celebration of UK Mother’s Day with a post that read, “Happy Mother's Day to my legend of a mother. @sarahferguson15 And to all mothers on this special day! #mothersday.”
And finally, on Monday, Eugenie shared another throwback post of her and her mother with the silly caption, “Good Morning Monday!”
While her account remains lighthearted, it could mark a serious turning point for the royal family, which has remained very reserved on social media. Meghan Markle even took down her active social media channels and personal blog when she announced her engagement to Prince Harry.
For now, you can still follow all the official happenings of Prince William, Prince Harry, Kate and Meghan on Kensington Royal, but truly, we are all hoping this inspires Meghan to re-activate her accounts so she can keep sharing all of her awesome life advice with her followers.
