Oprah revealed in an interview with People magazine that she found an extra creative way to tip her hotel housekeeper.

While etiquette dictates hotel guests leave the housekeeper $1-5 per night, in a 2014 poll only 46% of Americans said they tip hotel housekeeping. Those who do leave a tip of course usually leave a modest amount of cash on the room’s desk or nightstand. But not Oprah.

“This time I put it all over the room: under the desk, on the counter with the M&Ms, in the shower. As I was leaving, I was like, ‘Somebody is going to be happy today, yes,’” she told People for this month’s cover story.

This kind of open generosity isn’t strange for the media mogul. Oprah has been known for her charity work and even a few notable moments where she wowed the crowd with surprise gifts. (Remember, “everybody gets a car”?)

“Nothing makes me happier than to see other people in their purest moments of joy. Sometimes, honest to goodness, I’m just sitting around thinking, ‘What could I do to make somebody feel really good today? To be able to do that for somebody, that’s one of the great joys of my life,” she said.

Oprah is starring in “A Wrinkle In Time,” alongside Mindy Kaling and Reese Witherspoon. While shooting the film, which opens March 9, the trio posted amazing photos from New Zealand.
