If you’re scrolling through Instagram and a bowl of ramen or plate of pasta calls your name, you can now book a restaurant reservation or order delivery without leaving the app.

Through partnerships with Resy, OpenTable, Yelp, ChowNow, Eatstreet, GrubHub, Reservations and several more platforms, customers can get food through Instagram. After scrolling through your feed and finding a tempting post, visit that business’s Instagram page. If you see buttons with “Start Order” or “Reserve,” you’ll be able to make your move.

Upon clicking the desired action, a window will pop up, leading customers through the steps. If you have accounts with GrubHub, Yelp, or any of the other services, log in and the platform will take care of the details (including payment and contact information). Otherwise, you will need to create accounts for each platform. When everything is done, close the window and you’ll be back to scrolling Instagram.

Other businesses in addition to restaurants will be able to use this feature in the coming weeks. It will soon be possible to book a fitness class through Instagram and MINDBODY. Movie theatres can sell tickets to shows via Instagram and Fandango. Or you could get an appointment at the hair salon with Schedulicity.

No longer just a place to find inspiration, Instagram wants to be part of your real life.
