Two Elderly Men Snuck Out of Their Nursing Home to Go to a Heavy Metal Festival
As the saying goes, you’re only as old as you feel, and it seems two men in a German nursing home were feeling as young as ever when they snuck out to attend a heavy metal music festival.
Police were called to Wacken Open Air, the world’s biggest heavy metal festival, at 3 a.m. on Saturday morning to escort two elderly men back to their nursing home that they had escaped from on Friday. A police spokeswoman told Deutsche Welle that the men were “disoriented and dazed.”

To be fair, who isn't dazed at a music festival at 3 a.m.?
Naturally, the geriatric metalheads did not want to leave the festival, so police had to take them back to the care home by patrol car and taxi. “They obviously liked the metal festival,” police spokeswoman Merle Neufeld told local broadcaster Norddeutscher Rundfunk, according to Deutsche Welle.
The colossal festival featuring acts like Judas Priest and Danzig had completely sold out this year, according to CBS Pittsburgh.
