It seems as though Meghan Markle is already a beloved member of the royal family.
Since announcing her engagement to Prince Harry a few weeks ago, the American actress has been spotted strolling hand-in-hand with her future husband and has even announced that she’s changing up more than a few royal traditions.
Take, for example, the fact that she will become the first royal fiancé to attend the family’s Christmas gathering in their estate known as the Sandringham House, which is located in Norfolk, about 110 miles north of London.
And on Wednesday, she helped kick off the holiday season alongside Prince Harry as she joined her new family for their annual pre-Christmas lunch event.
According to People, Markle not only dined with Harry and the Queen, but she also enjoyed some quality time with her future brother and sister-in-law, Prince William and Kate Middleton. Prince Charles and Camilla were of course on hand for the festive event as well.
The royals were also joined by their extended family members including Princess Eugenie, Princess Beatrice, Zara and Mike Tindall, and about 50 other guests.
And while Markle was certainly a special guest at the event, she was undoubtedly outshined by little Prince George and Princess Charlotte. Though, we hope having the youngest royals present took a bit of pressure off Markle, who was reportedly dining with the entire family for the first time.
Next on the royal itinerary is the visit to Sandringham House, where the family will enjoy several decadent meals, attend their annual church services, and then exchange a few cheeky holiday gifts in their annual pink elephant gift exchange. Oh, to be a fly on the wall that day. Good luck, Meghan.
