Teens Can Get a Free Trip to Disney World — and Get a Career Jumpstart While They’re There
The Disney Dreamers Academy is now accepting applications for its annual mentoring program.
Next spring, 100 teenagers will get to go on an all-expenses paid trip to Walt Disney World.
But there’s more to this trip than taking multiple spins on Space Mountain and eating an unlimited amount of edible cookie dough (although there will be time for that, too).
Disney Dreamers Academy, in partnership with Steve Harvey and ESSENCE Magazine, will select hardworking, creative, and passionate high school students to take part in its annual mentoring program from March 21 to March 24, 2019. Over the four days, Disney World will transform into a temporary classroom, and Dreamers between the ages of 13 and 19 will given the tools to pursue their dreams, however big or small.
So what all does this mentoring program entail? At the Disney Dreamers Academy, teens will attend presentations led by motivational speakers, celebrities, and business and community leaders; participate in immersive career workshops for industries like animation, culinary arts, journalism, business, and medicine; and develop their communication, networking, and interviewing skills.
Graduates of the program have found successful jobs in medicine, engineering, journalism, politics, and public relations.
Students will get to go on behind-the-scenes tours and explore the theme parks during their free time.
Think you or someone you know has what it takes? The deadline to apply is October 31.
