The Great Wolf Lodge Created a Video Game That's Played While Shooting Down a Waterslide
Waterslides and video games—two of America's greatest pastimes. The Great Wolf Lodge—a brand of family-friendly waterparks and resorts—has found a way to combine them in perfect, thrill-seeking harmony with their new video game waterslide, Slideboarding.
Here's how it works: The rider's raft doubles as a game controller as guests are shot through an LED-drenched fiberglass flume. Players are instructed to press the control button whose color matches up with the flashing lights in the slide around them. As the rider improves, the lights come quicker. The waterslide is accompanied by a downloadable app, giving Great Wolf guests a chance to compete against other players and keep tabs of their points.
The Great Wolf Lodge owns three of six Slideboards around the world. If this sounds like something you want to try for yourself, guests can currently try out the slide at their Pocono Mountains locations and at their resort in Williamsburg, Virginia come mid-July.
